About me

My name is Esther Teijeira, I was born in Berlin and now I live in Madrid where I work as a physiotherapist and photographer.

I became passionate about sports photography when I went to watch the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and since then I always wanted to own a professional equipment myself and take pictures at important events all over the world.

From 2004 on I could make my dream come true and I have been (and I'm) the official photographer at quite a lot of Rhythmic Gymnastics events, like e.g. Portimao World Cup 2004 to 2009, World Championships 2005, European Championships 2007 and 2009 in Baku. Since 2005 I also work for the newsagency www.gymmedia.com as a photographer and newswriter and as a photographer for the Portuguese and Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.

Even if my priorities have changed a little becoming a physiotherapist, I'd love to stay involved in sports and photography travelling to as much as possible events throughout the year.
